I received everything from gorgeous images from teh InterWebs to scanned children's art to a copy of a Shel Silverstein poem to farting magic t-shirts to crocheted companions to hobby horses to Facebook gnomes and dragons to keep them company.

The Discworld Graphic Novels: The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett

When I started the Terry Pratchett Challenge, a couple of friends had warned me that his first couple Disc World books, while clever, were a little disjointed. However, I felt I needed some kind of grounding in Pratchett's world-building before jumping into the others in the series.
I think the graphic version of Colour of Magic and Light Fantastic did that for me. It established the make-up of Disc World and gave me the basic plot, as well as giving me a taste of Pratchett's cleverness.
The trouble is that it may be like seeing the movie before reading the book--my mental images are now influenced by the artist's interpretation.

ReadingAdventures: Terry Pratchett 2010 Challenge
Again, I'm trying to make a concerted effort to write more and keep it positive. (What? It could happen?)

I feel: crazy
I wrote this on FB on Wednesday, December 9. I know I've really been neglecting LJ lately, but I wanted to post this here so those who aren't also on Facebook could know what I've been going through these last couple weeks. I'll post something of a followup-type nature soon, I imagine.
I don't really know where to begin, or end, or anything. I guess I'll just write until I think I've got it covered.
